"He had fast hands, Tremendous Reflexes and a Masterclass technique and timing. That's why he is the 'coolest cricketer' of all time."

                                                     (Dean Wilson)

                                                                ''Journalist - The Mirror''

Did you know that he always chewed gum and never wore a helmet throughout his career...?

Guys, you are in the right place because I will share my unique thoughts on this post.

 Introduction to Brute Batsman:-

  • 'Brute Type' is a special and unique type in the Batting categories. Who loves to play strokes and Loft the ball for (4 & 6).
  • It is too difficult for a 'Brute Batsman' to push the ball or to make a defence against a bowl.
  • This type is 'God Gifted' and a Rare type in Cricket history. There are only a few names in every cricket team in all time.
  • Meanwhile, we discussed this type of batting, but first, we must travel to 1974, when history's no# 1 Brute batsman started his first-class cricket career.

IVA Richards Playing his favourite short in an ODI Match.

Favourite Shot:-

Sir Vivian Richards was known for his aggressive batting style and an outstanding shot of lofting straight down the ground over long-on. This shot involved using his exceptional hand-eye coordination and impeccable timing to strike the ball with immense power and precision. Richards waits for the ball to come into his hitting zone before unleashing a ferocious stroke that sails over the long-on fielder's head for six runs. His ability to hit the ball straight and deep made him a feared batsman in world cricket. He could dominate any bowler. Overall, Richards' love of lofting straight down the ground over long-on was a testament to his fearless approach to batting and his ability to play with flair and aggression.

ODI Career:-

  • When he retired from ODI cricket, he had an average strike rate of 90+, which was far more difficult for any batsman in the 20th Century.
  • When West Indies won both World Cups (1975 & 1979). He was one of the playing 11 of the team and also made a Tremendous Century for his team to win the final match.
