Introduction:-

                         The ICC Hall of Fame is a special recognition program that celebrates the achievements of the greatest players in cricket history. Players inducted into the Hall of Fame are honoured for their outstanding performances and contributions to the sport. The ICC selects players based on their playing record, impact on the game, and overall contribution to cricket.

Celebrating Cricket's Greatest Players:-

                          Cricket is a sport that has been played for centuries, and over that time, countless players have left their mark on the game. To honour those who have made the greatest contributions to cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) established the ICC Hall of Fame on 2 Jan 2009. The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding players from all cricket eras and celebrates their achievements.

History:-

                                   Several cricket legends from a long and illustrious game history have been inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of FameFICA Hall of Fame inductees between 1999 and 2003 consisted of 55 players.


How are players selected for...?

                                    Players are selected for the ICC Hall of Fame by a special committee. This committee comprises media members, former players, and other cricket experts. To be eligible for induction, a player must have retired from international cricket for at least five years. The selection committee considers a range of factors when evaluating potential inductees. These factors include performance statistics, impact on the game, and character and sportsmanship.

Why is this significant...?

                            This is a valuable way to recognize the greatest cricket players and celebrate their achievements. By inducting players from all eras of the sport, the 'ICC' connects modern players and fans with cricket's rich history and tradition. In addition, the Hall of Fame inspires future generations of players by showcasing the incredible feats and achievements of the game's greatest players.

Who has been inducted into it...?

                                   Since its inception in 2009, the 'International Cricket Council' has inducted 103 players. These players come from all cricket eras and include some of the greatest names in the sport. Some of the most famous inductees include:

  • Imran Khan (Coming Soon):-
                               The most outstanding former Pakistani bowler, batsman, fielder and Captain. 'The fighter who fought till the last ball'. The 1992 World Cup champion (the only ODI World Cup Pakitan ever won).

  • Sir Don Bradman (Coming Soon):-

                                    Widely considered the greatest Australian cricket batsman in history, Bradman scored 6,996 runs in 52 Test matches, at a 99.94 average.

  • Sachin Tendulkar (Coming Soon):-

                                    The Indian batting legend scored more than 34,000 runs across all game formats, including 100 international centuries.

  • Sir Vivian Richards (Visit):- 

                                    The West Indian batsman is widely regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen in cricket history. He helped lead his team to two World Cup victories.

  • Wasim Akram (Coming Soon):- 

                                   The Pakistani left-arm fast bowler is one of the greatest bowlers in cricket history and finished his career with more than 900 international wickets.

  • Sir Desmond Haynes (Visit):-
                               The West Indian cricketer was a great character and a great batsman. He served his team for two decades carrying many records and also carried his bat for three-time.

  • Sir Gordon Greenidge (Visit):-
                             The former West Indian cricketer is an adapted and ferocious opener. Together with Desmond Haynes, he made World Record Partnerships. He played 148 innings with him and scored 6482 runs with an excellent 47.31 average and 16 century stands together.

  • Sir Rohan Kanhai (Visit):-
                             The most famous member of the world-beating West Indian team. The volatile cricketer with a sharp eye. He wasn't an accumulator; he was a stroke maker. He became the hero of the 1975 World Cup after hitting 50 runs in the final.

                                    The most well-known 2 World Cup-winning Australian 11's player. The face changer of cricket, a magnificent W/K batsman. People will never forget his 149 runs against Sri Lanka in 2007's ODI World Cup final.
